Why 585W is the new default in Lahore

Two years ago the standard Tier-1 panel sold in Lahore was 540W or 550W. By May 2026 the volume product is the 580W to 585W class N-type TOPCon module, and the 585W in particular has become the residential sweet spot for one practical reason: nine panels make a clean 5 kW string, which matches the most-installed inverter size in the city.

Which 585W panel actually belongs on a Lahore roof

The honest answer is that the top four brands (Jinko, Longi, JA Solar, Canadian Solar) are close enough in real-world Lahore performance that the choice comes down to two things: which is in stock at fair pricing on the day, and which the installer has an established warranty relationship with.

Jinko Tiger Neo is the volume winner. Most installers stock it, supply is consistent, and the after-sales path through authorised distributors is well-trodden. The trade-off is that Jinko is also the most counterfeited brand in Lahore, so the buyer must verify serials.

Longi Hi-MO 7 is the technical equal of Jinko Tiger Neo with slightly less counterfeit risk. The price is within PKR 200 to PKR 400 per panel of Jinko.

Why a 585W panel beats a 540W panel even at higher per-panel cost

A buyer in Lahore sees a 540W panel quoted at PKR 17,000 and a 585W panel quoted at PKR 22,000 and the per-panel difference of PKR 5,000 feels significant.
