5 kVA hybrid solar inverter price in Lahore 2026

What 5 kVA actually means, why it is not the same as 5 kW, and what each brand really costs on the Lahore market right now.

kVA vs kW: clearing up the confusion

Most homeowners walk into a Hall Road shop asking for a "5 kVA inverter" without knowing what the unit actually measures. The shopkeeper does not always explain it. Here is the plain version. Kilowatt (kW) is real power, the amount of electricity that does actual work like running an AC compressor or a fridge. Kilovolt-ampere (kVA) is apparent power, which includes both real power and the "reactive" component caused by motors and electronics.

The two are connected through a number called the power factor. For most home loads in Pakistan, the power factor is between 0.8 and 1.0. So a 5 kVA inverter at a power factor of 0.8 delivers 4 kW of real power. At a power factor of 1.0 (purely resistive loads like geysers and heaters) the same inverter delivers a full 5 kW.

Why does this matter? Because if a Lahore home has lots of motor loads (ACs, water pumps, deep freezers), the kVA rating is what actually limits how much equipment runs at once. Buying a 5 kVA inverter expecting 5 kW of continuous load will end in disappointment if the loads are motor-heavy. The honest way to size: count the kVA needs, not the kW alone.

For Pakistani solar inverters, manufacturers often label dual values. A Solis "5 kW" hybrid is usually rated 5 kW at PF 1.0 and 4.6 kVA at PF 0.92. An Inverex "5 kVA" is rated 5 kVA at PF 1.0 and 5 kW at PF 1.0 (some Inverex models). Always check the spec sheet, not the box label.

The 2026 price list for 5 kVA hybrid inverters in Lahore

Prices below are May 2026 retail at Lahore distributors, before installation. Installer pricing is usually PKR 10,000 to PKR 20,000 lower when bundled with a full system. Cash purchase from Hall Road shops sometimes runs PKR 5,000 to PKR 10,000 cheaper but with no warranty support.

Brand and modelContinuous outputBattery supportPrice (PKR)
Solis S5-EH1P5K-L hybrid5 kW / 4.6 kVA48V lithium, 100V to 500V battery range185,000 to 215,000
Growatt SPH 5000 hybrid5 kW / 4.6 kVA48V lithium, BMS support225,000 to 250,000
Inverex Aerox-II 5 kVA5 kVA / 5 kW48V tubular or lithium240,000 to 270,000
MaxPower Infiniplus 5 kVA5 kVA / 4 kW48V tubular, 24V lithium175,000 to 195,000
Crown Micro CR-5KVA5 kVA / 4 kW48V tubular, basic lithium165,000 to 185,000
Deye SUN-5K-SG03LP1 hybrid5 kW / 5 kVA48V lithium, BMS protocol240,000 to 285,000
Huawei SUN2000-5KTL-L15 kW / 5 kVAHV battery (Huawei LUNA only)385,000 to 425,000

The spread is wide for a reason. The cheap end (Crown, MaxPower) gives basic functionality and works for a 5-marla home that mostly needs UPS-style backup. The middle (Solis, Growatt, Inverex) is where most Lahore residential installs land. The premium end (Huawei, Deye, sometimes Sungrow at this size) is for buyers who prioritise app, monitoring, and grid-export features.

Honest brand comparison

Picking between these is the single biggest design decision after panel choice. The trade-offs:

Solis

Strongest engineering for the price. Good app, decent build, fair warranty (5 years standard, 10 with optional purchase). The weak point is the service network in smaller Lahore neighbourhoods; for Walton, Misri Shah, or Allama Iqbal Town you might have to ship the unit to a Solis service partner. For DHA, Bahria, Johar Town, service is fast.

Inverex

Best after-sales coverage in Pakistan, period. The Lahore service centre is on Mall Road and there are sub-dealers across the city. Walk-in repairs in 24 to 48 hours. The trade-off is the price premium (PKR 35,000 to PKR 50,000 over Solis at this size) and slightly weaker app vs Solis.

Growatt

Middle of the pack on everything. Solid hybrid, decent app, available widely. Parts on Hall Road are abundant. Honestly the safest mass-market pick for someone who does not want to research.

Deye

Aggressive growth in Pakistan over 2025 and 2026. Excellent battery flexibility for mixed lithium and tubular setups. App is better than Inverex, on par with Solis. Service network is still growing but solid in Lahore central areas.

MaxPower and Crown

Budget tier. Work for daytime savings and basic backup. The hybrid features are stripped down, the inverter algorithm is conservative, and battery charging logic is basic. For someone who wants the lowest cost on-paper hybrid for a 5-marla rental property, these are fine. For a long-term owner, the Solis or Growatt is the better long-term call.

Huawei

Engineering tier. Best efficiency (98.4 percent vs 97.5 to 97.8 for the others), best app, best monitoring, longest expected life. The trade-off is the PKR 180,000 to PKR 240,000 premium and the fact that batteries must be Huawei LUNA, which adds another PKR 80,000 to PKR 120,000 to the storage cost. Worth it for premium DHA Phase 8 builds. Overkill for a Township 5-marla.

What 5 kVA actually runs in a Lahore home

A real load count for a 5 kVA inverter on a 5-marla or 10-marla home:

A 5 kVA inverter handles all of the above except running the conventional 1.5-ton AC at the same time as the iron, microwave, and washing machine. With one inverter AC the system has plenty of headroom for everything else. With two ACs running, the household needs to be careful about high-load appliances during peak load.

If the home has two heavy ACs that run together, an 8 kVA or 10 kVA inverter is the right size, not 5 kVA. The temptation to "save money" by undersizing the inverter ends in nuisance tripping.

5 kVA panel pairing and DC input

The 5 kVA inverter accepts a DC input of 5.5 to 7.5 kW depending on model. Solis S5-EH1P5K-L accepts up to 7.5 kW DC, Growatt SPH 5000 up to 6.5 kW, Inverex Aerox-II up to 6.5 kW. This means you can over-size panels by 30 to 50 percent above inverter rating, which is recommended in Pakistani conditions because of summer dust derate and winter low-light derate.

For a 5 kVA hybrid, the right panel array is 5.8 to 6.5 kW (about 10 to 11 panels of 580W). The extra DC capacity costs PKR 80,000 to PKR 100,000 and improves annual generation by 15 to 22 percent over a barely-sized 5 kW array. The payback on the extra panels is faster than on the inverter itself.

What to actually do

For a 5-marla or 10-marla Lahore home with a single inverter AC and a fridge, pick a Solis or Growatt 5 kVA hybrid at PKR 185,000 to PKR 250,000. Over-size the panels to 6 kW. Add battery support later if needed.

For a home with two ACs running together, do not buy a 5 kVA inverter. Move up to an 8 kVA or 10 kVA inverter.

For a homeowner who wants the best app and longest service support and is willing to pay for it, Huawei SUN2000 at PKR 385,000 plus is the premium answer.

For a small budget rental property or a low-load home, the Crown or MaxPower at PKR 165,000 to PKR 195,000 is workable, with the honest caveat that the hybrid features will be basic and the warranty support will be sparse if anything fails.
