Why Longi shows up in almost every Lahore quote
Longi Solar is the world's largest manufacturer of monocrystalline silicon wafers and one of the top three module makers globally. In Lahore the brand has been a fixture since 2019. Local installers like Longi for two reasons. The panel build quality is consistently good across batches, and the price sits right at the same level as Jinko, which keeps the BoQ flexible when one brand runs short of stock.
Two main panel families are sold in Lahore in May 2026: the older Hi-MO 6 P-type PERC line and the newer Hi-MO 7 N-type TOPCon line. The Hi-MO 5 is essentially gone from new inventory. Anything sold as Hi-MO 5 today is old stock from 2022 or earlier.
Longi prices in Lahore — May 2026 table
| Model | Wattage | Tech | PKR / panel | PKR / watt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hi-MO 7 LR5-72HTH | 580W | N-type TOPCon | 21,200 – 23,500 | 37 – 40 |
| Hi-MO 7 LR5-66HTH | 550W | N-type TOPCon | 19,800 – 21,400 | 36 – 39 |
| Hi-MO 7 (72-cell bifacial) | 585W | N-type bifacial | 24,200 – 25,800 | 41 – 44 |
| Hi-MO 6 LR5-72HPH | 560W | P-type PERC | 18,800 – 20,400 | 34 – 36 |
| Hi-MO 6 LR5-66HPH | 540W | P-type PERC | 17,400 – 18,800 | 32 – 35 |
| Hi-MO 5 (clearance) | 540W | P-type PERC | 15,600 – 17,200 | 29 – 32 |
Pallet-volume rates for installers move PKR 1.5 to PKR 3 per watt below the lower retail bound. The Hi-MO 5 clearance stock looks tempting on the per-watt number but most of what is available in Lahore is more than 18 months old, which eats into the usable warranty period before the panel even reaches the roof.
Hi-MO 6 versus Hi-MO 7 — what to actually buy
The Hi-MO 7 is the better panel in every measurable way. It uses N-type TOPCon cells with an efficiency of 22.8 percent at the module level, compared to 21.5 percent for the Hi-MO 6 P-type PERC. Annual degradation is 0.30 percent versus 0.55 percent. The temperature coefficient is minus 0.30 percent per degree Celsius versus minus 0.34 percent, which matters in Lahore where panel temperatures cross 65 degrees Celsius on the rooftop in June and July.
Over a 25-year run on the same roof, a Hi-MO 7 will produce roughly 6 to 9 percent more total energy than a Hi-MO 6 of the same nameplate wattage. On a 5 kW system that is around 1,400 to 2,100 kWh per year of extra generation, worth PKR 65,000 to PKR 95,000 at current LESCO buy-back rates.
The price premium for the Hi-MO 7 is PKR 1.5 to PKR 3 per watt over the equivalent Hi-MO 6, or roughly PKR 18,000 to PKR 33,000 on a 5 kW system. The payback on the upgrade is comfortably inside year 2 if the household has net metering and inside year 4 even without it.
The honest answer for May 2026 buyers is: take the Hi-MO 7. The Hi-MO 6 only makes sense when the system is going on a clearly temporary roof, or when budget pressure is so tight that the upgrade cost will delay the install by more than three months.

For a 5 kW system in Model Town or DHA Phase 5, here is a typical Longi-based BoQ in May 2026.
Nine Hi-MO 7 580W panels at PKR 22,000 each is PKR 198,000 on the panel line. Hybrid inverter at PKR 280,000 to PKR 340,000, mounting structure at PKR 65,000 to PKR 78,000, DC and AC cabling at PKR 30,000 to PKR 38,000, protections at PKR 22,000 to PKR 28,000, installation labour at PKR 40,000, net-metering paperwork at PKR 40,000 to PKR 55,000. Turnkey: PKR 675,000 to PKR 780,000 without battery.
If a buyer drops to Hi-MO 6 560W panels, the panel count rises to ten and the panel line lands around PKR 195,000. The savings on panels are small but the additional structure and cabling cost adds about PKR 10,000, so net difference is close to zero. The Hi-MO 7 is the better deal in nearly every realistic scenario.
Buyer tips for Longi in Lahore
Authentication is less of a problem with Longi than with Jinko but it is not zero. The Longi serial number on the back-sheet should match the printed barcode on the side label and the etched number inside the junction box. The Longi Tracker app should scan and return a valid factory and date of manufacture. A panel that scans as "unregistered" or returns no factory data is almost always non-genuine.
Pallet packaging is another signal. Genuine Longi pallets arrive in Lahore with the original Longi factory tape, a printed pallet manifest in English, and a moisture indicator card. Re-wrapped pallets, generic tape, or pallets without a manifest should be treated with caution.
Three signs of a Longi panel that is not worth the per-watt price.
Weight under 27 kilograms for a 580W panel suggests thinner glass or a re-laminated cell. A back-sheet that bends easily with finger pressure indicates non-standard PET instead of the proper Tedlar fluoropolymer. Junction box screws that are not stainless steel are an indicator of secondary-factory assembly.
Where to buy Longi in Lahore
The authorised distributor channel is the safe path. Several large Lahore importers carry direct contracts with Longi and can produce stamped, tax-paid invoices. Buying through this route adds PKR 0.50 to PKR 1.50 per watt over Hall Road wholesale but secures a clear warranty path.
Hall Road and Brandreth Road shops carry Longi at competitive prices. Most of the stock is genuine but the buyer should still insist on a serial number scan, a tax-paid invoice, and a signed delivery slip. The minor authentication overhead is worth the savings on a multi-lakh purchase.
The third tier, small unbranded shops, is best avoided for Longi. The margin for the shopkeeper to slip in a re-labelled panel is too high and the warranty path is closed once that happens.
Warranty path for Longi in Pakistan
Longi's standard product warranty is 12 years and the linear performance warranty is 30 years for the Hi-MO 7. A warranty claim runs through the authorised Pakistani distributor, who collects the serial number, original tax-paid invoice, installation photos, and a field performance test result. The claim is then escalated to Longi's Singapore regional office.
Realistic claim-to-replacement timeline for a confirmed defect is 12 to 18 weeks. The two factors that push timelines longer are missing tax-paid invoices and serial numbers that cannot be authenticated, which is exactly why the channel choice matters more than the per-watt savings.
