Township at a glance
Township sits south of Faisal Town and east of Multan Road, with the Defence Road and Township Schools Area as the main commercial anchors. Sectors A through G each have a different character. Sector A and B are mostly 5-marla single-storey homes. Sector C has a heavier mix of 5 and 7-marla, often double-storey. Sectors D and E run wider with 10-marla and some 1-kanal corner plots. Sector F and G touch the outer commercial side near Niazi Chowk and Defence Road, with a mix of housing and small commercial.
Township summer bills in 2025 ranged from PKR 18,000 on a small 3-marla in Sector A to PKR 130,000 on a busy 1-kanal in Sector D with 7 ACs. The average install completed across Township in 2025 was 6.5 kW, and the median home size was 5-marla.
Sector-by-sector notes
Sector A and Sector B
Mostly small single-storey 3 and 5-marla homes, lighter loads, 2 to 3 ACs maximum. Summer bills PKR 18,000 to PKR 35,000. A 3 to 5 kW on-grid system covers it. Cost PKR 520,000 to PKR 950,000. Streets are narrower (15 to 20 ft), so panel delivery uses a pickup. Roofs are usually small but enough for 8 to 10 panels.
Sector C
The heavy block. Mixed 5-marla and 7-marla, mostly double-storey, with 3 to 4 ACs and bigger families. Summer bills PKR 32,000 to PKR 60,000. A 5 kW system is the minimum, but 7 kW is what most homes actually need. Cost PKR 950,000 to PKR 1,250,000.
Sector D and Sector E
Wider 10-marla and some 1-kanal plots. Loads similar to Faisal Town, 4 to 6 ACs, fridge, freezer, sometimes a tube well. Summer bills PKR 55,000 to PKR 90,000. The right size is 7.5 to 10 kW, hybrid often makes sense because of evening outages. Cost PKR 1,200,000 to PKR 1,900,000.
Sector F and Sector G
Commercial-residential mix. Homes have shops at the front or run a small office from the ground floor. The load profile is different, daytime business load that solar covers very well, and evening residential load that needs battery or grid. Hybrid systems with 5 to 10 kWh batteries are more common in these sectors than elsewhere in Township.
The schools area question
Township Schools Area runs alongside Sector E and has a high density of small schools and tuition centres operating from converted houses. These addresses have a unique load profile, heavy 8 am to 2 pm consumption, almost nothing after 4 pm. A 5 to 7 kW on-grid system without battery is the right answer. Payback on these is fast, often under 18 months, because the school's peak load aligns perfectly with peak sun hours.
A school owner in Sector E installed an 8 kW Solis on-grid in February 2026 for PKR 1,180,000. Before solar, the May 2025 bill was PKR 48,000. After commissioning, May 2026 bill was PKR 4,200. The math works because schools shut down before evening peak load hits.

LESCO Township feeder in 2026
Township addresses are handled by the LESCO Township Sub-Division office near the schools area. Net metering applications go through the standard online portal. As of early 2026, the Township feeder has reasonable capacity headroom and AGM inspections are scheduled 2 to 3 weeks after a complete file is submitted. Bi-directional meter installation follows within 4 to 6 weeks of inspection. Total time, application to meter, is 7 to 9 weeks.
The Township office has been one of the more responsive LESCO sub-divisions for net metering in 2025-26. The reasons are partly that the feeder still has capacity, partly that the staff turnover has been low and the same XEN has been signing off for two years. That makes the process predictable.
Common Township install considerations
Roof access on Sector A and B small homes is sometimes through a single internal staircase, with no separate roof entry. Panels have to be carried up by 3 workers in pairs. That is normal and the labour cost already includes it. Where the staircase has tight turns (under 36 inches at the landing), the installer may use rope hoists from a balcony instead, which is faster.
Sector D and E homes often have a side lane for the car porch with a roof above it. That porch roof is not always strong enough for solar panels even though it looks flat. The survey engineer will tell the homeowner whether the porch roof is usable. Most are not, and the panels go on the main house roof instead. If the main house roof is not big enough, the porch roof can be reinforced for around PKR 60,000.
Net metering cost recovery in Township
For a typical 5 kW Sector C install at PKR 875,000 with a previous June bill of PKR 42,000, the monthly bill after solar drops to around PKR 6,500 to PKR 9,000 in summer and PKR 2,000 to PKR 4,000 in winter. Annual savings come out to roughly PKR 380,000. The payback is 18 to 22 months. After year 2 the system continues to deliver PKR 380,000 per year in saved bills (adjusted for tariff increases) for the next 23+ years of panel warranty life.
Install timeline for Township
A 5 kW Township install is a 2-day job. A 10 kW is 3 days. Schools and commercial-residential installs sometimes need to be done over a weekend to avoid disrupting operations, and most installers in this area schedule Saturday-Sunday or extend the Friday-Saturday window. Net metering paperwork runs in parallel.
